How JPPS Staff will support Students and Parents during Home Learning
During remote learning JPPS teachers will –
- Check their email regularly throughout the day between 8.45 and 3.45 Mon - Fri
- Upload daily activities on our school website (or other platform as designated by their teacher) for students in the key curriculum areas of literacy, numeracy, inquiry, SEL and specialist classes. These activities will be designed for students to be able to complete at home and will be uploaded in a grid like template.
- Give clear instructions regarding which work should be submitted back to teachers (and how to do this if required).
- Open at least one ‘online classroom’ every day so students can connect with their class teacher (we will not be running ability based groups during remote learning). Times of online classrooms will be communicated via email by teachers. Attendance in an online classroom is an expectation for students to do daily. It is recommended that every student connect with their teacher at least once a day in some format (NOTE: online sessions may be recorded for security reasons).
- Provide remote learning and support for students who do not have access to online connectivity.
- Be available for parent/teacher interviews as the need arises (parents should email teacher to arrange a convenient time).
Most of all – JPPS teachers will continue to support and care for students and their families as best as they can, they will connect, share, listen to and laugh with the students just as they do every day at school!
